Point of sale
The point of sale that keeps selling, online or not.
Raqam POS runs your whole shop from a fast desktop till, keeps selling right through an internet outage, and syncs the moment you are back.
- Offline first. The register runs from data on the machine, so an outage is a non event.
- One login, every branch. Branches, tills and stock organised under a single business.
- Native Windows till. It installs like any program and updates itself between sales.
At the counter
Ring up anything in seconds.
Scan, search or tap, split the payment any way, hand back exact change, and park a sale to serve the next customer.
Scan, search or tap
One box matches by name, barcode or PLU, and the till listens for a scanner at all times.
Split any payment
Cash, card, transfer or on account, in any combination, with the change worked out for you.
Park and resume
Set a cart aside under a name, serve the next customer, then pick it up at any till.
One login
Run one shop or a whole chain.
Branches, tills and stock organised under a single business, with a live look into any location.
- One business, many branches. Switch between any branch or a cumulative view of the chain.
- Stock per branch. One shared catalogue, separate counts, so low stock reflects that shop's own shelves.
- Look into any branch. A live, read only view of another branch's figures and stock, while you are online.
Stock
Stock that keeps itself honest.
Live stock, expiry batches, reorder points, stocktakes, transfers, purchase orders, and recipes that deplete ingredients as you sell.
- Live counts. Expiry batches, reorder points and stocktakes that reconcile what is really there.
- Recipes deplete as you sell. A made up item draws down its ingredients on every sale.
- Transfers between branches. Send stock offline. Confirming what arrived needs a connection.
Accounts
Run tabs and trade accounts the safe way.
Store credit with limits that protect you, fair oldest first settlement, prepaid balances, and per person sub accounts.
Limits that protect you
Set a cap that warns, or one that blocks an over limit sale at the counter.
Sub accounts, own limits
Named buyers on a company account draw only on their own cap, and it stays one bill.
Oldest invoice first
Payments settle in order, so the ledger reads the way an accountant expects it to.
Print and price
Print it your way, price it right.
Crisp thermal receipts, die cut stickers and shelf labels, correct tax, your currency, and your logo on everything.
- Your logo on everything. 80mm slips with itemised lines, a VAT breakdown and your VAT number.
- One tap, no dialog. The desktop till prints silently and pops the drawer on cash sales.
- Labels in house. Print shelf and price labels with barcodes on the same roll of paper.
Always on
The till that never stops.
Keep selling right through an internet outage, on a fast desktop app that runs the whole shop from data already on the machine.
- Genuinely offline first. Sales, refunds, credit checks and promotion prices all run from local data.
- Nothing arrives out of order. Changes queue locally and push in the order they happened.
- Receipt numbers survive it. Each till keeps its own counter, so a sequence never restarts.
Promotions
Plan a deal once, let it run.
Scheduled promotions with coupons, minimum spend, timed windows and stackable rules that apply themselves at the register.
Set the dates once
A named promotion starts and stops on its own, and the lowest price always wins.
Coupons and minimum spend
Timed windows and stackable rules that apply themselves at the register.
Savings on the slip
The original price is struck through on screen, and the saving prints on the receipt.
Accountability
Every drawer balances, every action is on record.
Per cashier shifts, X and Z cash ups, granular permissions, and manager overrides that leave a trail.
- Per cashier shifts. X and Z cash ups with the float, the expected drawer and the counted variance.
- Permissions per person. Discounts, refunds, credit and line removal switched on one at a time.
- Overrides leave a trail. A manager scans a card to approve one exception, recorded against their name.
Insight
See the whole business at a glance.
A fast dashboard and analytics for sales, profit, expenses, stock and trends, with a searchable receipt history.
- Today, at a glance. Sales, expenses and net profit, with every tile opening the detail behind it.
- Real profit, not just sales. Expenses flow into net profit, so the bottom line is the one you act on.
- Every receipt, searchable. Find a sale by number, amount or date, then reprint or refund from it.

About us
The company behind the till.
Raqam is a small South African software company with one product: a point of sale built for shops where the internet is not a given. We build it, we run it, and we answer for it ourselves, from setup to support.
We believe a till is not a website. It should be fast, it should run on the counter's own machine, and a dropped connection should never stop a sale. That is why Raqam POS is a native Windows app that sells from data already on the machine and syncs when the line comes back.
The rest stays simple on purpose. One login runs every branch, billing is in rand through Payfast, and when you write to us, the people who built the software are the people who reply.
